As the Information Technologies Department, all technology infrastructure development and digital transformation activities we carry out at our university directly contribute to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), primarily SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
With our Tier 3-level data center built to high standards, disaster recovery center, campus-wide deployment of Wi-Fi 6 infrastructure, network and information security systems, virtualization-based structure, and automation-supported software solutions, we are preparing the university’s IT infrastructure not only for today but also for the future.
Additionally, we are reinforcing our approach to digital sustainability through the following initiatives:
- Hardware upgrades and virtualization infrastructure that improve energy efficiency,
- Resource conservation and reduction of electronic waste by reutilizing idle equipment,
- Centralized and comprehensive web and service security provided through SSL Wildcard certificates,
- End-to-end encrypted communication in all directory services and authentication processes through the LDAPs protocol,
- Secure remote connections for personnel and uninterrupted access to digital services via the VPN infrastructure,
- A digital support platform developed for personnel, enhancing accessibility and ease of tracking IT service requests,
- Secure access to research networks and international library services through federation membership with YETKİM,
- An integrated structure that facilitates user experience and enhances access security via centralized identity management systems,
- Log management, encryption, and access control systems ensuring full compliance with legal regulations (KVKK, Law No. 5651),
- Strengthened institutional communication and digital collaboration via the Microsoft 365 infrastructure and integrated services.
All these efforts have produced tangible gains in data security, accessibility, data continuity, automation, digital access equity, and institutional efficiency, transforming our university into a digitally robust, resilient, and sustainable institution.
As the Information Technologies Department, we remain committed to continuously developing innovative, secure, and sustainable IT infrastructures aligned with the requirements of the digital age.
